OOO hack - set up rules to delete your emails!

Check out my OOO rule I set up a few years ago when I went on leave.
I felt slightly anxious about it due to it being quite disruptive to the status quo and this spiralled momentarily after an initial comment challenged it's lack of customer focus.
At that point I deleted the LinkedIn app and went about enjoying my time in Queenstown.
On return I logged into Outlook to an empty inbox but my attention caught the number of emails in my deleted inbox rapidly increasing.

I clicked on my deleted items and noticed these emails hadn't completely disappeared and had a little giggle.
At this point one might assume the trial failed yet my quick data analysis proves otherwise...
🟣 Emails received = 93
🟣 Emails retrieved = 12*
🟣 Emails resent to me on return = 4
🟣 Emails that didn't appear to be critical = Between 81 - 89*
*I may have responded to emails retrieved before they resent
Outcomes from trial
🔵 81 less emails to deal with on return
🔵 Hours of productivity gained (hard to estimate)
🔵 No customer relationships negatively impacted
🔵 Nearly 400 comments (with shared posts) and thousands of views, majority positive and all for it
🔵 Lots of curiosity, whether people thought it was right or wrong, the fact that it caused disruption is success.
The way we're working isn't working so every little thing we can do to protect our wellbeing is worth it in my mind.
Will I do it again? Hell yes ✅
