I'm always inspired by the visual metaphors of Pejman Milani via his I.D.E.A. Newsletter each week 💡

In his original visual he showed that balance can take many shapes

🔴🟨🟡🟩🔵🟪

Being the geek that I decided to have some fun and see how I could represent how balance takes shape for me working a 4-Day Week.

Then I thought it would be good to compare with someone who is on the pathway to burnout 🔥

These people...

🔥Grinding long days

🔥Not taking a lunch break

🔥"Just replying to a few emails" after dinner

🔥 Waking at 3am consumed with work anxiety

🔥 Finishing off a few "perceived" critical things on Saturday morning

🔥 Checking in on Sunday to ensure you get a head start

Not exactly what I'd call balance.

Especially when you look at my next layer of geekiness 🤓

Balance takes shape for me working about 32 hours per week.

And gives me 136 hours a week to sleep and enjoy all the wonderful things on offer to live my best life 🙌

Whereas if you're not setting clear boundaries to balance or integrate work and life you're significantly reducing the luxury of time to make the most of your one precious life 😢

Don't get me wrong, I love my work and 100% believe work is critical for improving our wellbeing!

But if you're feeling resentful for the time you're spending working that's not supportive of living your fullest life.

If you want to have some fun and be creative, send me a DM for the template to see what shape balance looks like for you 😊

Bonus points if you share it with me! 🏆
